Training UniformAll gymnasts are expected to attend training in a ‘training uniform’. The training uniform is based on the need for uniformity and professionalism, ability to accommodate flexibility and display the manner in which the body is flexing and contouring clearly, as well as the need to ensure the safety of the gymnast.
ClothingThe basis of the ‘training uniform’ is a black leotard. Other black body-fitting items such as bike shorts, leggings, footless tights, fitted t-shirts and singlets can be worn over the leotard in order to provide warmth for the gymnast. No coloured clothing is permitted.
Hair & JewelleryHair must be held back in a bun for gymnasts at all levels except recreational. It is expected that jewellery will not be worn to training as it can impact on the safety of the gymnast. Where a gymnast has pierced ears, small stud-type earrings only are acceptable.
Toe ShoesGymnasts may perform their exercise with bare feet or wearing gymnastic slippers (toe shoes). These can be purchase from AMCO gymnastics equipment in Clayton or from online Rhythmic Gymnastics stores.

Uniform Hire and PurchasePRG provides a facility to hire, sell and purchase new and second hand leotards, tracksuits and apparatus.
Purchasing individualised leotards can be an expensive exercise particularly if it also means that new apparatus is required to complement the style and colour, so purchasing of second hand leotards and apparatus may be a good alternative. The club leotard can be ordered through the office. They can also be hired through the club but availability and sizes are limited. Hire cost is $20 per competition. Leotard and tracksuit must be returned washed after the competition. |
