Victorian Rhythmic Gymnastics (VRG) Training Squad

Gymnasts who place in the top 3 at their respective Intermediate or Junior State Championship are selected to participate in VRG program. The purpose of the VRG Training Squad is to provide specialised training for the selected gymnasts. A series of 4 workshops will be held each year, one each term, with the aim to improve all aspects of a gymnast’s performance and development.

Each workshop will include a combination of lectures and practical sessions. VRG Training Squad coaches will assist gymnasts with skills, strength and performance. Each squad is current for one year. Clubs are able to invite other gymnasts from heir clubs to attend VRG training this is by invitation from the coaches and their is a cost involved.

Other Competitions and Performances

PRG provides opportunities for gymnasts to travel and compete at interstate and overseas competitions. Since 2007, gymnasts and coaches have travelled to all states in Australia, America, Belgium, China, Malaysia, New Zealand, Spain and the Ukraine.

Gymnasts have also had the opportunity to attend training camps in Bulgaria, Croatia and Russia. The experience and the knowledge gained interstate and overseas benefits all the gymnasts at our club.

There are also opportunities to perform outside of competitions. In 2012, PRG took part in The Moomba Parade, The Multicultural Children’s Festival, Cirque de Gymnastique, Fusion FX, "Maslenitsa” (Russian Pancake festival), The Spring Fashion Festival and The Teenage Expo. There is something for everyone at PRG.

Even if you do not want to compete, there is always the End of Year Show at the end of the year. Traditionally held in December, this is a fun event where all gymnasts at all levels participate in the annual performance. An end-of-year party will be held afterwards. It is a great way to celebrate the year’s achievements.
